Shinobu occasionally offered to become friends with her adversaries and desired that demons and humans could get along. However, after the death of her older sister Kanae, that conviction was disproved. Shinobu had been pursuing Demons in the hope that one day she would come across the Demon who had kidnapped her elder sister, but she was unwilling to obey Kanae’s dying request that she not quit Demon Corps until she killed the enemy who had done it. Even if Demons voluntarily submit to painful suffering created by Shinobu as retribution for their own crimes, Shinobu would still grant them forgiveness.

Appearance

Kochou Shinobu is described as a charming, intellectual woman with a slim build. Due of her weak look, causes many to undervalue her. Her purple-highlighted black hair is pulled back into a “yakai-maki” bun with a butterfly pin. She generally has a childlike expression on her face and wide, deep purple smokey eyes with no discernible pupils.

Shinobu is dressed in the typical Demon Slayer garb, which includes a bold purple jacket with a straight collar and matching haori and hakama long pants tucked into the cloth with a butterfly pattern around her thighs.

Every time she moves, her distinctive white haori, which has a butterfly design, simulates the appearance of the wings. On her arms, the base of the dress, and her legs, the white of the haori changes into turquoise and eventually pink. Kochou Shinobu had a constant air of serenity and friendliness that was almost unnerving. She frequently appears next to people out of the blue and says “yoo-hoo” to them, often shocking them.

Shinobu is frank and constantly maintains her cool, detached demeanour in any circumstance. Shinobu smiles even when demons refuse to be her friends since she seems to like torturing them.
